농어목 다동가리과 Order Perciformes Family Cheilodactylidae(morwongs) 아홉동가리(Spottedtail morwong) Goniistius zonatus (Cuvier, 1830). 45cmTL D/spine17, soft ray32, A/spine3 ,soft ray8, P₁/14, LL/62. 분포; 서북태평양: 한국의 울릉도, 남해, 제주도, 서해 중부 이남, 일본 남부, 류구열도, 남중국해, 타이완에 분포. 일반개요; 몸 바탕은 백색이며(죽은 것은 회청색) 주둥이에서 미병부에 이르기까지 9개의 너비가 넓은 아래로 경사진 황갈색 띠무늬가 있다. 지느러미들은 노랑색 내지 황갈색이다. 꼬리지느러미에 백색 둥근 점들이 다수 있다. 연안 깊지 않은 수심 바위지역에 서식하며 갑각류 등 저서동물을 잡아먹는다. 일본에서 양식된다.

Distribution: Ulleungdo Island, South Sea, Jeju Island and south of central western sea of Korea, southern Japan, Ryukyu Islands, South China Sea and Taiwan.
General: Body white(pale gray in spirits) with nine brown oblique bands from snout to caudal peduncle. Fins yellow to brown. Caudal fin dusky brown with numerous white spots. Rocky reefs of shallow waters. Feeds on crustaceans and other bottom dwelling animals. Commercially cultured in Japan.
